Odisha bagged two medals in a yachting competition, which was conducted by the Tamil Nadu Sailing Association (TNSA) towards the end of a yacht sailing training programme at Chennai Port from February 15 to 17, 2018.
The 10-day training programme was organized by Yachting Association of India (YAI), in association with Indian Navy from February 6, 2018, under Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat (EBSB) Mission of Govt of India, and supported by the Port of Chennai.
An eight-member Odisha squad participated in the training programme, under the guidance of Odisha Yachting Association (OYA) secretary Sabir Bux. Among Odisha players, Manaswini Maharana and Mamita Tudu secured gold for Odisha in girls division, while Odia boy Sekhar Rao, teamed with Sai Kumar Kandula from Maharastra, secured second position in overall.
Fingi Hasa, Kalaga Sameya, Kalaga Dharma Raju, Kalaga Suresh and Ravi Munda were other member of the Odisha squad. The players from Odisha were invited on the basis of their performances in wind surfing events.
